THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The district administration has closed down Pothys in Thiruvananthapuram following a finding of a serious breach of Covid protocol. The action was taken despite the police intervening and instructing them to control the crowd.

As the crowds increased, even the social distance inside the shop was not maintained. Authorities also found that the visitor's register was not kept accurately. With this, the district administration decided to close the business establishment. Disaster Management Division Deputy Collector EM Safeer, Thiruvananthapuram Tahsildar Harishchandran Nair and Corporation officials closed the shop. Police have registered a case against the firm.
