NEW DELHI: BJP leader Maneka Gandhi intervenes over the issue of dragging pet dog in the road after tying it to a vehicle, with the intention to abandon it. The BJP senior leader enquired the details of the event via phone after calling DGP and Aluva rural SP. She also demanded to take strong action against the accused.
BN Mansoor, an advocate practising in high court has informed Maneka Gandhi about the incident. From him, she also collected other details of the accused. She also asked the people of Kerala should respond against such incidents.
Maneka has informed the authorities in Kerala that enough awareness should be created among the people against the atrocities on animals. It was Akhil, a native of Nedumbassery who filmed the incident as he was riding on a bike behind the vehicle to which the dog was tied.
The entire body of the dog was wounded due to the inhumane ordeal. The dog has also lost skin in its legs. The accused Yusuf, a native of Chalaka in Kuttukara was arrested by the police but soon he was sent on bail. He said that the dog belongs to him and as it was constantly disturbing him he was trying to abandon it by tying it at the backside of his car.
