THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5949 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among these, 5173 persons developed the disease through contact including 646 cases without an identified source of infection. 83 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 47 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5268 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 60,029 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 32 COVID deaths on Saturday with the toll rising to 2594.
