KOZHIKODE: Responding to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's allegation that the central agencies are politicizing the ongoing probe into the gold smuggling case, BJP state president K Surendran said that the CM had turned against the agencies when he realized that the probe was against him. The CM is trying to sabotage the investigation as it has entered a crucial phase.

It is ridiculous that the Chief Minister, who had sent a letter to the Prime Minister asking for an inquiry by the national investigation agencies, has sent another letter to the Prime Minister on the eve of the elections asking him to recall the probe team. Now everyone knew who had the weight on their laps. Chief Minister who is asking about the evidence against his Additional Secretary, should explain why Raveendran did not appear before the ED, Surendran said.

If CM Raveendran is not at fault, then why is he lying in the hospital afraid of ED and pretending to be a patient, Surendran asked. Surendran alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to save the Additional Secretary by using the Health Department and using the Jail Department to escape from the gold smuggling case. Surendran added that the central agencies are not the ones who would return on their knees in the face of the CM's threats and would return only after the investigation is completed and the culprits are brought before the law.
