KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister’s remarks against the central agencies in the gold smuggling case are the cries of a criminal, said BJP state chief K Surendran. He said that it is not the central agencies but the state agencies that are trying to sabotage the case.

‘It was the chief minister who wrote a letter to the chief minister seeking a probe by the central agencies. It is not right to call them back when the probe turned against him. The Prime Minister is not sitting there to dance to the tunes of the chief minister. Pinarayi’s threats and intimidation are of no value to the central agencies. The jail department, police and the vigilance are trying to sabotage the case,’ he said.

‘A police officer related to CPM district secretary is going to question Swapna. The chief minister is opposing the arrest of Congress leaders including P Chidambaram of other states. They were jailed not for participating in the freedom struggle but for looting the country's money. Even the court is shocked at the evidences against the elites in Kerala. The chief minister who is fully protecting C M Raveendran should explain why the latter is afraid of being questioned by the ED. The chief minister who sees politics in everything should say why this drama if the additional secretary is not afraid. The dealings between Uralungal and Raveendran should be probed, he said.

Surendran said the alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami will destroy the Congress and accused the leaders of living in the lair of terrorists.

Surendran said the BJP has lodged a complaint with the election commission against the chief minister for violating the election code of conduct. Isn’t he ashamed to say that Covid vaccine will be distributed free? The centre had earlier asserted that the vaccine will be given free in the country. Pinarayi is like the famed Basheerian character ‘Ettukali Mammoonju’ who takes credit for centre’s projects, he added.
