MUMBAI: Adar Poonawala, CEO, Serum Institute of India, said that vaccination against COVID-19 in India may start in January. The vaccine, which is being developed jointly by Oxford University and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, is in the final stages of testing. Poonawala said that he hoped the vaccine would be approved for immediate use by the end of December.

Poonawala said that he hopes the vaccine will reach everyone in India by October 2021. He also added that normal life in India would be possible after October.
