KANNUR: The results of local body polls will be a recognition of the LDF government’s development and welfare activities, said former CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. The LDF will get upper hand in thirteen districts this time. There will be a change in the state in favour of the LDF, he said.
This government had not starved the people of Kerala during COVID times. This is a government that raised social welfare pension. The controversies against the government are deliberately created for news hour discussions. The problem of the people was that they needed food and shelter and this government had ensured that, he said.
There will be outbursts in the UDF after the polls. Even the All India Congress is opposing the policy of the Congress in Kerala who aligned with the Jamaat-e-Islami. The BJP will not be able to make any progress in this election. In Kerala, the growth of the BJP will be like snake gourd and it can be seen soon after the polls. The people of the state will defeat all crooked means, he said.
Kodiyeri said, ‘My treatment is going on and I am on leave as part of it. The remaining things will be decided after the treatment. The allegation of bogus voting in Kannur has always been there. The allegation comes when they see LDF’s victory. The government's announcement of free COVID vaccine is not new. Therefore, there is no violation of election rules in it, he said.
