MALAPPURAM: People’s aspirations will be reflected in this local body polls, said speaker P Sreeramakrishnan. “Only those who intervene in developmental issues will win polls, not those who take refuge in allegations,” he told media persons. Sreeramakrishnan responded after casting his vote in Malappuram Perithalmanna Khadermullah School.

“While enjoying the latest breaking news, one should not ignore the facts behind it. Even if the truth is buried in the deepest depths, one day it will be revealed,” he said. The speaker also added that the complaint against the chief minister will be dealt with by the poll panel and he cannot comment on the issue as he is holding a constitutional post.

“Let the public decide the extent of truth in Surendran’s statement. Will think about taking legal action against the allegations raised against me,” he said. The speaker also said that media are reporting news without getting the original reports and testimonials.

Sreeramakrishnan said that he is ready for any kind of investigation. The campaigns based on lies and deceits will not affect polls. He also added that the speaker cannot conduct press conferences every now and then. Realising this limitation, the opposition is making fierce criticisms which have no basis.
