KOZHIKODE: A clash broke out between various party activists and the police in Nadapuram. Two police vehicles were attacked. Following the clash, the police used grenades. Rural SP have left for the place to control the brawl. An issue broke out at the fourth booth in 6 and 7 wards in Keyoor. A heavy turnout was witnessed in many places from the time the polling started. The clash started while controlling the crowd.
Meantime, a scuffle broke out between party activists in many districts amidst polling. There was a clash between the SDPI and LDF activists in front of Karuvampoyil Higher Secondary School where voting is held in 16,17 and 18 wards of the corporation at Koduvally in Kozhikode. There was also a dispute between various party activists at Neeleswaram in Kozhikode.
A clash broke out between the activists of the LDF and the UDF at Perumpadappu Kodathoor in Malappuram. A dispute over open votes led to the clash. UDF candidate Suhra Ahamed sustained injuries in the attack. Following that, the police resorted to lathicharge.
In Kannur, booth agent Nazar was attacked by CPM activists at Pariyaram. Some unruly scenes were witnessed in 16th ward of Tanur municipality. Former councillor Lamih Rehman sustained injuries in the attack. The clash broke out over allegations of attempts to influence voters.
