NEW DELHI: As part of the intensification of the farmers' protest, the farmers' organizations went on a hunger strike and blockaded district centres across the country. The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee said the agitation took place in 341 districts of the country.

The Delhi-Jaipur National Highway and the Agra-Delhi Expressway to Delhi were blocked. The leaders also said that more farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand are moving towards Delhi.

Forty leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Union went on a hunger strike in Delhi yesterday. While twenty-five leaders fasted on the Singhu border, 10 leaders fasted on the Tikri border and five leaders fasted on the UP border. The fast lasted from eight in the morning to five in the evening. In addition to the Delhi Police, more paramilitary units have been deployed along the Delhi border for security.
