THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5218 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4478 persons developed the disease through contact including 622 cases without an identified source of infection. 72 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 46 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5066 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 57,757 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 33 COVID deaths on Tuesday with the toll rising to 2680.

In the last 24 hours, 56,453 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.24.
With the addition of 12 new region and the removal of 3, there are 442 hotspots in the state.
