THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police has been strictly directed that no action should be taken against Saritha S Nair, in the case of cheating many by receiving lakhs from people after promising them permanent jobs by creating fake appointment orders. Following directions from leaders of the ruling party, top police officers directed the Neyyattinkara police.
The local police were directed not to raid houses of Saritha and her co-accused and not to seize any documents. The other accused are CPI leader T Ratheesh and Shaju Paliyod. Ratheesh is the CPI candidate of Paliyodu ward in Kunnathukal panchayat. Ratheesh is the accused in the case of swindling money by promising jobs after preparing fake appointment orders along with Saritha. He was expelled from the CPM's primary membership yesterday. It is believed that many top officials will be trapped if Saritha is arrested.
The complaint was lodged by two people who gave 16 lakhs for getting job in KTDC and Beverages Corporation. More than 20 people are believed to have been deceived. BEVCO authorities said that when youths came with the appointment orders, they identified it as fake and left the incident to the vigilance. However, the vigilance has so far not yet started an initial probe in it.
