THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: C M Raveendran, additional private secretary of the chief minister, has finally appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for interrogation. He appeared at their office in Kochi. The ED had issued a notice asking him to appear today. It was doubtful whether Raveendran, who had filed a plea in the high court, would appear before them. However, he appeared for the interrogation on the calculation that the court verdict would be against him.
Raveendran filed the plea in the high court asserting that he was yet to recover from post COVID illness and should not detain him for long hours. Although he was summoned three times earlier, he failed to appear citing health issues.
Raveendran had received notices to appear at their office in Kochi on the 6th and 27th of last month and then on the 10th of this month. He is being questioned based on the information obtained after questioning Swapna Suresh, Sarith and M Sivasankar. The ED is also examining the dealings in Life Mission and KFON Projects.
He is being questioned in a money laundering case related to gold smuggling.
