THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former minister and MLA V S Sivakumar rejected the allegations levelled against him in the party soon after the poll debacle. He said that he has no role in the selection of candidates for the corporation. He said the candidates were chosen by the local committees.

There were a lot of rebels in Thiruvananthapuram and this is what happened in the coastal region. I am not saying anything about the posters against me. None who loves the Congress party will release such posters. Local issues usually reflect in local polls, he pointed.

The setback suffered in the state happened in Thiruvananthapuram also. The party will examine the debacle. Meantime, Sivakumar added that there was no major flaw in the selection of candidates.
