MUDAPURAM: Four members of a family were found hanging in their house at Mudapuram in Chirayinkeezhu on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Sivakrishnapuram native Subi(51), his wife Deepa (41), daughter Haripriya (13) and son Akhil (17). It was a neighbour who first discovered Akhil's body by around 6 pm on Thursday. Following this, locals broke into the house to find Sibu and others hanging inside the house.

It is learnt that financial hardship is the cause of suicide. Police have found suicide notes in the rooms of all four. The note said that an envelope containing other information had been kept and could only be opened in the presence of relatives.

Subi, who had returned from abroad two years back, was running a vegetable shop near Chirayinkeezhu for the last two months. The bodies are currently kept at the mortuary of the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital.
