KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate has let off CM Raveendran, the Chief Minister's Deputy Private Secretary, after questioning in connection with a money laundering case for 13 hours.
Raveendran arrived at the Kochi office after being served a fourth notice by the ED to appear for questioning. However, CM Raveendran, who came out after questioning, did not respond to the media.
CM Raveendran did not appear for ED questioning in the last three notices served citing virus related ailments. After the agency issued a notice for the fourth time, Raveendran approached the High Court against ED stating that he is ill and is being constantly harassed by sending notices.
The ED issued the notice to Raveendran on the basis of the statements of Swapna Suresh and others arrested in the gold smuggling case. It is unclear whether he'll be summoned again for further questioning.
