NEW DELHI: Mizoram Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the church dispute in Kerala. Pillai said that he had informed the Prime Minister all the details of the dispute.
‘The Prime Minister was apprised of the complaints raised by the two disputed church leaderships. The church leadership in the complaint alleged that Christian minorities in the state are facing discrimination in receiving aid. It is now available in the manner 80:20 and this is discriminatory. This was brought to the notice of the Prime Minister,’ Sreedharan Pillai said.
He said that he hoped the central government to intervene and will resolve the issue after Christmas. Joseph Mar Gregorios of the Jacobite Church responded that there should be a fair settlement in the church dispute and that he would welcome if the Prime Minister intervened in it. Pillai will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah also on the issue.
