PATHANAMTHITTA: Pathanamthitta DCC general secretary Sudha Kurup has resigned from Congress following her defeat in the local body elections. Sudha told the media that she was cheated by her own party members and that would join the CPM. Sudha had contested from Pallikkal division of Pathanamthitta district panchayat.

"There was not enough coordination in the election. The candidates did not get any help from the DCC, block-level or mandalam committee level. A party candidate can win only if all these three factors together help the candidate. That did not happen in my case." Sudha said.

Sudha added that the party did not do anything for the candidates and that is why she is leaving the party.
