THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister KK Shailaja has warned that the spread of the virus is likely to intensify in the state. The minister said that the death toll would rise as the virus spread increases. Earlier, the health minister had said that there would be an increase in the spread of the virus after the local body elections.

With the lifting of restrictions in the state, there has been a huge increase in the number of cases. The risk of virus spread increased as people came out in connection with the election. The minister also said that the government has intensified e-Sanjeevani services, a telemedicine system, in view of the possibility of an increase in virus spread.
