THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The result of the local body elections are the people's approval for the government, said CPM state secretary A Vijayaraghavan. The Congress and the BJP share the result of communal polarization. Vijayaraghavan also said that the BJP had made gains through vote-trading.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will tour the state. The event will start on Tuesday in Kollam. Vijayaraghavan said the aim of the tour was to meet different sections of the people and form opinions.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is planning to tour Kerala with a view to continue the rule in the forthcoming Assembly elections following the LDF's victory in the local body elections. The details of the tour were approved by the CPM state secretariat. The Chief Minister will hold discussions with the leaders of various sectors in all the districts and will accept their suggestions and comments and include them in the manifesto.

The Chief Minister's state tour will start from Kollam on Tuesday (December 22) morning and will reach Pathanamthitta later that evening. The tour will reach Idukki on the morning of the 23rd and reach Kottayam in the evening. The Chief Minister will return to Thiruvananthapuram on the 24th and will hold meetings with people from various fields after the Cabinet meeting. The tour will be at Kannur on December 26, and Kasargod, Kozhikode and Wayanad on December 27. It will reach Malappuram, Palakkad on Dec 28 and Thrissur on the 29th and Ernakulam on the 30th. The tour will conclude in Alappuzha that evening.
