THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will increase the social welfare pension to 1500 per month as promised in the local body election manifesto. With the repeal of the Code of Conduct for Elections, there will be an official announcement of an increase in pension from Rs 1,400 to Rs 1,500. According to the LDF, social welfare pensions and the distribution of free food kits during the pandemic era were key factors in the front's poll success.
