THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After the humiliating defeat in the local body polls, leaders of Congress will meet Muslim League members to evaluate the situation. The meeting is ahead of the proposed UDF meet. Senior leaders including P K Kunhalikutty will take part in the meet. League will demand to stop the open verbal spat among the senior Congress leaders.
Muslim League is extremely dissatisfied over the in house squabble between Congress leaders. Other parties in UDF also share the same feeling about Congress. UDF will take decisions to expand its activities at the grass-root levels. The right front is also thinking about a parallel programme to the chief minister’s pre-poll campaign across Kerala.
KPCC has also initiated for strong revisionist measures within the party. Mullappally Ramachandran has summoned KPCC general secretaries for a meeting to be held on Saturday morning. The meet will evaluate the reasons for the set back in each district. The state leadership has also asked general secretaries in each district to submit evaluation reports on the party’s performance.
Following the defeat of Congress in the local body polls, a big riot is ingoing within the party. In several districts, local workers and youth leaders have turned up against the District Congress Committees. Senior leaders like K Muraleedharan and K Sudhkaran has lashed out at the state leadership and batted for some serious restructuring within the party leadership.
