PALAKKAD: Party leaders have lashed out over the incident where workers displayed Jai Sreeram poster in the front of the headquarters of Palakkad municipality. Senior leader Radhakrishna Menon has said that displaying Jai Sreeram poster was an immature move and the party leadership should utilise the worker’s enthusiasm for betterment of the party.
Radhakrishna Menon also criticised that the party got ready for polls even without forming poll committees at the local level. The verbal spat between leaders also reduced the sheen of the party. Leaders including Kottayam district president of the party didn’t approach elections seriously. BDJS also failed to make inroads in the polls. He also said that the party requires a total revamp, including a change in its attitude towards senior leaders.
The uncontrollable reaction of workers in Palakkad occurred due to severe lapse of party leadership. Radhakrishna Menon who said that the party failed to achieve the expected victory in the local body polls, also added that there are serious shortcomings in the party machinery.
The banner titled Jai Sreeram was displayed in front of Palakkad municipality building by party workers as part of their victory celebrations and it was removed within minutes. But its visuals went viral on social media.
