THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health minister KK Shailaja has warned the people of the state that there are possibilities for further rise of the pandemic cases in Kerala. She said that the crowding which occurred in various parts of the state as part of local body polls could raise the pandemic’s curve. She also added that people should avoid going out if it is not necessary.
Health minister’s words:
We have reached a new phase. Now it is feared that due to the crowding which occurred in various parts of the state, due to the local body polls, could further raise the pandemic’s curve. New cases have been reported from a few areas. We should be very careful in the coming two weeks. The hike in the number of cases could be only understood in the coming weeks. Experts say post-elections a massive hike in Covid 19 cases could be expected. With cautious intervention, we can also overcome this phase. Everyone should strictly adhere to the guidelines. Mask should be worn, hands should be cleaned with either soap or sanitiser and social distancing norms should be clearly followed. Everybody should try to say away from forming crowds in public places. This is because, if anybody has caught the pandemic, preventing crowd formation will prevent further spread of the disease. Everybody should stay indoors, and step out of homes only if necessary.
