THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Schools in the state have been directed to reduce the number of students and teachers arriving at schools from January 1. It was decided at the Education Quality Committee (QIP) meeting that the number would be decided by the school authorities. The meeting also informed that the necessary guidelines will be given to the schools for this.
PTA meetings will be convened at the school level within a week to make the necessary arrangements. The SEERT has been tasked with determining the areas of emphasis on each subject and determining the evaluation approach accordingly, taking into account the potential for virus outbreak. The notification regarding the public examinations for Classes 10 and 12 will be published soon, the officials said.
With the coordination of various agencies under the Education Department, students will be provided with study support and necessary counselling. Officials added that they would seek legal action against those who spread fake news on social media about school reopening and exams. From January 1, students in classes 10 and 12 can attend school with parental consent.
