THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: At the meeting of the United Democratic Front held in the background of the local body election results, the constituent parties sharply criticized the main opposition party, the Congress. The criticism was raised in the bilateral talks between leaders of the RSP and the Muslim League and Congress in the run-up to the UDF meeting.

The constituents blamed the failure on the weak organizational structure of the Congress. The constituents said that the workers in the Congress are not listening to the leaders. They also demanded that Congress should correct itself. The RSP criticized that Oommen Chandy should be active in politics.

The Muslim League also criticized that the problem in UDF lies with Congress and demanded that Congress should rectify themselves as soon as possible. Kerala Congress M chairman PJ Joseph said that the electoral relationship with the Jamaat-e-Islami's Welfare Party should have been confined to Malabar and blamed the UDF for falling into Left Front's political strategy.
