POTHENCODE: A youth was stabbed to death during a dispute between friends at Chembakamangalam near Mangalapuram. The deceased has been identified as Chembakamangalam native Vishnu (30). His friend Vimal (38), who suffered injuries, was admitted to the private medical college hospital in Venjaramoodu.

The incident took place at around 10.30 pm on Saturday. At 9.30 pm, Vimal and another friend took Vishnu away from home. When they approached the nursing hostel near the house, they had a verbal dispute. Vishnu was stabbed during the scuffle among the three. The cause of death was a deep wound in the chest. Vimal was also injured during the attack. Vimal, who is undergoing treatment, is under police surveillance.

Vimal and Vishnu were close friends. The dispute occurred between the two after Vimal discovered the Whatsapp chat between Vishnu and Vimal's sister, Mangalapuram police said. Vishnu is survived by a sister. Police have registered a case.
