KOCHI: Police have nabbed two persons accused of misbehaving with a young actress at a mall. Ramshad and Adil, both residents of Perinthalmanna, were taken into police custody. The two were apprehended when they reached the Kalamassery police station to surrender. Earlier, they had said that they did not touch the actress intentionally.

They claimed that the actress' statement that she was badly touched was untrue. The youths had said that they had come to Kochi for work-related purposes. They had explained that they had met the actress at the mall and talked to her but did not follow or insulted her and had not come to Kochi with any ill intentions.

The accused said that they did not deliberately try to insult the actress or her family and said they are ready to apologize if there was any misconduct on their part.

They went into hiding on the instructions of the lawyer who they approached in Perinthalmanna after learning that the incident has become controversial. The issue came to light after the actress revealed her bad experience on social media. The police then voluntarily registered the case.
