KOLLAM: Two youths were killed after a scooter collided with a minibus at Alappat near Karunagappally on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Maruthoorkulangara native Muhammad Shoufan (18) and Vallikkunnam native Rashid (25). Another youth named Bilal (17), who was severely injured, has been admitted to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.

The accident took place at around 4 pm on Sunday when the scooter, on which the youths were travelling, collided with a minibus that was coming from the opposite direction. While Shoufan died on the spot, Rashid died while undergoing treatment at hospital in Karunagappally. The bodies are currently kept at the mortuary of the Karunagappally Taluk Hospital.
