KOCHI: Enforcement will not undertake interrogation of chief minister’s additional private secretary C M Raveendran on Monday in connection with black money laundering and benami transaction charges. The interrogation oh the third day was put on hold as Raveendran informed ED authorities that he can’t appear as he had to perform the medical check-up as part of the post-pandemic treatment. He said that the medical check-up cannot be postponed and ED also conceded with his demand.

ED has earlier asked him to appear in its Kochi office by 10 am on Monday. But on Monday morning at 9 am RAvendran has sent an email to ED informing them his inconvenience to reach the office. Sources say he had sought additional two days time to appear before the agency. Earlier, enforcement authorities had questioned him for two days.

ED questioned Raveendran for two days on the basis of the testimonies of gold smuggling case accused and other evidence collected by probe agencies over the case. He was asked in detail over issues such as life mission irregularities, various government projects, the contracts given to Uralunkal Labour Society and the details of investors on various government projects. Even though the agency has summoned him three times previously as he was undergoing covid 19 treatment, he couldn’t appear before the agency.
