THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 3423 people tested positive for the virus on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 2982 persons developed the disease through contact including 359 cases without an identified source of infection. 48 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 34 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 4494 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 60,504 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 27 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 2843.

In the last 24 hours, 34,847 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.82.

With the addition of 8 new regions and the removal of 9, there are 457 hotspots in the state.
