THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Renowned poet Sugathakumari has tested positive for the virus. She has been shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for expert treatment. The veteran poet was resting at home due to age-related illness. She tested positive for the virus after undergoing a test today.

Senior Congress leader VM Sudheeran also tested positive for the virus today. He is also undergoing treatment at the Medical College. The health department had warned of possible outbreaks in the state after the local body elections. The health department directed people to be vigilant in the coming two weeks.
