THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has ordered to open bars in the state from Tuesday. Beer and wine parlors will also be opened. Liquor will also be allowed in clubs.
In addition, beverage outlets will be allowed to operate until 9 pm. Bars must operate in compliance with the pandemic protocol. Bars across the state have been closed for nine months following a pandemic induced lockdown.
The Excise Department on Saturday had handed over the file to the Chief Minister regarding the opening of liquor shops. In bars, liquor will no longer be given as parcels. Sales will be made through Bevco outlets only. Parcel sales will continue at Consumerfed outlets.
