KASARAGOD: Two civilian police officers of Coastal Police were been abducted and released by a group in Kasaragod. Police officers Subhash and Raghu were abducted by a group of fishermen from Mangalore on Monday afternoon.
While conducting an inspection at sea in Kumbala, the police officers noticed a group fishing illegally. They boarded the boat and demanded to bring it ashore. But those in the boat did not comply.
According to the police, the boat then went to a port in Mangalore. The abducted policemen were released after the intervention of Kasaragod district police chief D Shilpa. Steps have been taken to bring them back safely.
