PATHANAMTHITTA: A procession carrying the sacred golden attire, 'Thanka Anki' for Mandala Pooja at Sabarimala will leave the Aranmula Parthasarathy temple today.
Devotees can view the 'Thanka Anki' at the Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple from 5 am to 6.30 am on Tuesday. The procession will start from the east gate of Aranmula at 7 am and will be conducted in full compliance with the pandemic norms. The chariot carrying the sacred attire will only stop at certain directed places for welcome ceremonies. 'Thanka Anki' darshan at the Aranmula temple will be only till 6.30 am.
The procession will reach Pampa on Dec 25th at 1.30 pm. After leaving Pampa Ganapati Temple at 3 pm and on arriving at Sharamkuthi, the procession will be given a reception with rituals. In the evening a Deeparadhana will be held after adorning the sacred attire on the Ayyappa idol. Mandala Puja will be held on the 26 noon. Thanka Anki was offered to Sabarimala by Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, who was the Maharaja of Travancore.
