IDUKKI: The medical tests result of 49 persons arrested by the police in connection with the Vagamon night party drugs case will be out on Tuesday. Polie can take another case of drug use against the accused if the presence of drugs is found on their blood samples.

In the wake of Christmas season, police have strengthened checking on hotels in this area to prevent drugs use. Police have started collecting details of all tourists who visit Wagamon during this period. The move from the police comes in the wake of reports which state that drugs use based on the hotels and resorts in this area could spike during the Christmas season. Local police were also given the nod to raid resorts in the area if they get any leads.

Meanwhile, police have received information that all those who had come to the resort had prior knowledge about the night party. Police will also take a final decision on including the owner of the resort, Shaji Kuttikadu, in the list of the accused on the basis of his testimony. Sources say that the intelligence wing will submit a report to SP on Tuesday.

Police have taken the custody of 58 persons in the case, which includes 12 women. Among them, 12 persons, who were found to be involved in the drugs transaction, were arrested by the police. Others were not included in the case, as prima facie, they have not possessed or used the drugs. But in order to get a final opinion on whether they have used drugs, blood samples were sent for testing. If the tests turns positive, then other people may also get charge-sheeted in the case.
