THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The condition of poetess Sugathakumari undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the medical college hospital for the virus continues to be critical. She is breathing with the support of the ventilator. She is not responding to medicines, said hospital superintendent Dr M S Sharmad. She is presently under the observation by a team of expert doctors.

She was shifted to the medical college from a private hospital in the capital city on Monday. On reaching the hospital, the main problem was breathlessness following bronchopneumonia. As soon as she was admitted, a team of expert doctors examined her and shifted her to the ventilator of intensive care unit.

She was admitted to the private hospital on Sunday after she developed fever. She underwent the test for the virus yesterday morning. She was brought to the medical college from the private hospital where she was undergoing treatment with the help of the ventilator.
