THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor seeks justification for the Assembly session to be held on Wednesday. Governor asked the government to explain the reason for the assembly session. But the government said there is a peculiar situation for the assembly session and the government should be given nod.

The government decided to convene the one-hour-long special assembly session to discuss in length and breadth the controversial farm laws which have invited protest and condemn from the farmer’s organisations in the country. The government sources on Monday have informed that the assembly session will be met to declare solidarity with the protesting farmers in New Delhi. However, as the governor has sought justification for the session, the government’s plan is staring at a dead end.

Earlier, Punjab has convened a special assembly session in protest against the farm laws passed by the centre. More farmers from Maharashtra will join with the protesting farmers at New Delhi. 1,000 farmers from Madhya Pradesh has joined with the farmer’s protests on Monday. The farmer’s protest which began on November 26 is continuing unabated despite several rounds of ‘failed’ talks with the centre. Farmer’s demand that the centre should repeal the farm laws whereas the centre says that the law cannot be repealed and necessary amendments could be made.
