KOTTAYAM: “Am saying as her dad, my child finally got justice, I am very happy now,” witness in Abhaya case and thief Adakka Raju said. His response comes in the wake of Thiruvananthapuram CBI court’s verdict on the case, saying that the accused are guilty of the murder of Sister Abhaya.

“Finally, my child got justice. I also have daughters. Nothing should happen to them. After spending a lifetime looking after them losing our children all of a sudden will give unexplainable pain to parents. It’s beyond one’s imagination. I am very happy now. Many have tried to influence me. I was given monetary offers worth crores. I didn’t take anything. I am still living in a colony”—this was Raju’s response.

The most important testimony in the case was given by Adakka Raju. In his testimony, Raju said that on the day when Abhaya was murdered, he saw father Kottur and father Jose Puthrikayil when he went for theft on that night. This became a major breakthrough in the case. But certain people also raised apprehensions about the reliability of the thief’s testimony. The defence also raised this contention. After the verdict was issued activist Jomon Puthenpurackkal said that god came in the form of Adaka Raju to deliver justice to slain Abhaya.
