THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 6049 persons tested positive for the virus on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
Among these, 5306 persons developed the disease through contact including 575 cases without an identified source of infection. 108 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 60 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5057 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 61,468 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 27 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 2870.

In the last 24 hours, 64,829 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.33.
With the addition of 4 new regions and the removal of 3, there are 458 hotspots in the state.
