governor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress on Tuesday lashed out at the governor for rejecting the government's demand for a special assembly session. Responding to the speaker's decision, Congress termed the move unconstitutional. It further alleged that the governor was trying to protect the BJP's political interests. The assembly session was planned to convene in order to discuss the contentious farm bills implemented by the central government.

Congress deputy leader in the house K C Joseph said it was up to the cabinet, not the governor, to decide which issue to discuss and whether it was urgent. "The governor's action is unconstitutional. The governor is trying to protect the political interests of the BJP. It is not up to the governor to decide what to do," Joseph said.
