KOZHIKODE: P K Kunhalikutty is likely to resign from Lok Sabha MP post. The party’s leadership meeting is currently discussing it. If the meet arrives at a consensus, the decision will be declared at the worker’s panel. Kunhalikutty is resigning, inorder to look after the party’s affairs in Kerala. The League’s leadership thinks that in the changed political scenario in the state, the party needs his presence.
The move is intended to bring back Kunhalikutty to the party fold as the state is going to face assembly polls within three to four months. Popular demand has risen from various corners within the party asking Kunhalikutty to devote more time on state politics. They say that his leadership is essential for the party. Even though in the local body elections, Congress witnessed heavy vote loss, the league has not faced any serious blow. League workers think that it is due to the leadership of Kunhalikutty.
