THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Muraleedhran MP has lashed out at the Congress state leadership, saying that what he had said four months ago had happened in the local body elections and that many in the party could not understand that the land beneath the feet is getting washed away. Muraleedharan also said that the basic problems are not being solved in time and it should be understood that eight out of ten is not eighteen.
There is no point pretending to ignore growth of the BJP. Muraleedharan also said that the party suffered a setback when the basics turned against the party. The party is now going in reverse gear. Gold and Swapna could not save the party. The defeat is better or else the party would have collapsed in the Assembly election. Muraleedharan opined that now is the time to analyze the failure.
There is no escape in elections without working. Muraleedharan said many of those contested the polls did not know how many booths there were in the ward. Recalling Congress' pathetic performance in Nedungad ward in the corporation, he said the 74 people who voted for the Congress were those who thought they would vote for the Congress anyway. Muraleedharan said even the candidates did not know how they got such a majority in the Lok Sabha.
