KOZHIKODE: A Muslim League rebel who declared support for the Left Front in the Mukam municipality has received a death threat. It was League rebel Mohammed Abdul Majeed who received a Whatsapp message which read that his wife will be widowed. The report about the death threat emerged soon after the news of the murder of DYFI activist Abdul Rahman Rauf at Kanhangad Kalluravi.
Majeed had announced his support for the Left Front on Wednesday. With this, the Left Front had enough members to govern the city council. The Muslim League rebel, who won as an independent candidate from the 30th Division, joined the LDF leaders at the press conference to announce his support for them.
Majeed had said that he was satisfied with the five-year rule of the Left Front and had decided to support it only after they had accepted all his new proposals. He said he would support the Left Front to rule but would remain a member of the Muslim League.
