THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Five persons, who returned to the state from the UK in the last week, have tested positive for COVID-19. However, it is not clear whether they have been infected by the new variant of the virus that was reported in the UK. Their swab samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology for testing. Health experts said the matter would be clarified only after the results of the test are available.
