THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Anil Nedumangad drowned to death while bathing in the Malankara dam. He was 48 years old. Anil came to Thodupuzha for the shooting of the new movie with Joju in the lead role.
It is learned that Anil accidentally fell into a deep ravine in the water. Following Anil's disappearance, his companions and locals searched for him and rushed him to a private hospital in Thodupuzha, but he had already died.
Anil's body was shifted to Thodupuzha District Hospital. The accident happened around 5.30 pm. It is learned that the accident took place at the Malankara Tourist Hub. The Malankara Dam has deep pits in many places. Locals say he may have drowned into one of these. He has acted in films like Ayyappanum Koshyum and Kammattipadam.
Anil won critical acclaim for his role as CI in Ayyappanum Koshyum, directed by Sachi. Hours ago, Anil had posted his condolences on Facebook on Sachi's birthday.
He has acted in over 20 films including Prithviraj's Paavada, Joshi's Porinju Mariyam Jose, Kamal's Amy and Shanavas Bavakutty's Kismath. His last film was Papam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte. He got his first notable role in Njan Steve Lopez directed by Rajeev Ravi. The character of Freddie Kochachan in the film was highly acclaimed.
Anil also shined in the role of a villain in the critically acclaimed Kammattipadam. Surendran from Kammattipadam was a character that could be called his breakthrough.
