THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Governor has given permission to convene a special assembly session to pass a resolution against the contentious agriculture laws passed by the central government. This will resolve the days-long crisis between the government and the governor. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan gave the nod for the session during a meeting with Speaker P Sriramakrishnan, who invited the former to deliver the policy address. During the discussion, the Speaker also asked the Governor to allow the meeting. Although permission was granted, the governor expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the government had asked for permission.
The government is continuing with its efforts to convince the Governor about the need to convene a special assembly session. The Chief Minister's Office has explained to the Governor that the House needs to convene.
