THRISSUR: Nine people, including a former councillor, were expelled from the BJP in Thrissur. The action was taken after they allegedly tried to defeat the party in the local body elections. Hindu Aikya Vedi district secretary K Keshavadas and former corporation councillor Lalithambika were among the nine who were expelled from the party. The disciplinary action is for six years. Lalithambika was the sitting councillor of the ward from where BJP spokesperson B Gopalakrishnan contested.
