Arya Rajendran, a 21-year-old Graduate, is going to be the mayor of Thiruvananthapuram city. This smart girl who won from Mudavanmugal ward will perhaps become the youngest mayor in the entire country. First of all our hearty congratulations. May you be able to shine in your endeavor and become the pride of youth.
The local body elections this time was full of zest and zeal that the state has never seen before. It was also the election in which the youth were more represented than ever before.

Young men and women from all parties have won in municipalities and panchayats. So it is not simply said that the future of the country lies with the youth. When it is implemented, hopes and dreams about the future will bloom.

It can be said that the decision of the CPM leadership to appoint Arya Rajendran as the Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram was unexpected move. Until Saturday, the name of Jameela Sreedharan, who is much senior age-wise, mature and has official experience, was heard loud as the prospective Mayor candidate.

But the lot fell on Arya Rajendran, which is also seen as a daring experiment. The decision has added sheen to the city corporation. There may be many who are doubting whether Arya will be able to take up this big responsibility.

But these young lady’s words shows that such doubts are baseless. His organizational experience as a member of the SFI State Committee and as the President of Balasangham and his valuable experience working among the people will surely help Arya in her new duty.

If one has the ability to understand things and the willingness to work hard, he can take on any major responsibility with courage. He can also make a personal mark in a short period of time.

Anywhere in the world one can see the shining example for this. Arya Rajendran, who is going to take over as the mayor, can also be expected to tread a new path for implementing his responsibilities.

The decision of the party to mold a strong and capable new leadership by entrusting big responsibilities on it at an early age is also commendable.
There are people in all parties who come forward with claims for high positions by highlighting their age and experience, which they describe as their fixed deposits..

Once in a while, it's good to have a bold change like this. It is also a great recognition for young leaders. Such changes will motivate them to be more vigilant and work for the party.
Common people will also accept this whole-heatedly. Any generation any time craves for changes.

V K Prashanth was the youngest mayor following the local body election held five years ago. He did a good job in taking care of the City and its rennovative works.

Myor K Sreekumar also made good contributions to the City. As the LDF didn’t have majority in the council, they were not able to implement several projects.
But that is not the case now.

The representative should be able to regain the old glory of Thiruvananthapuram, which is famed as the most beautiful city in the country.

A permanent solution should be ironed out to save the city from garbage menace. There is no point in taking up big project, oblivious of basic responsibilities.
.
Main programees should be for a clean city. Emphasis should be on roads, parks, medical centres and rehabilitation centres. If the problems can be studied and solutions can be found accordingly, the people in the city will stand by the Mayor.

Of course, the area of activities will be more challenging for the new mayor, who will have to continue his studies with the mayor. We hope Arya will be able to carry out her duties efficiently by following the guidance of the party leadership and colleagues.

In Kerala politics, Arya Rajendran is certainely a new message.
