THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Anil Nedumangad was given an emotional goodbye by the state as he was cremated at the premises of his house in Nedumangad by Saturday night. His body was brought to Thiruvananthapuram after postmortem at Kottayam Medical College Hospital.

People have been flocking to the Thodupuzha district hospital since this morning to pay their last respects to their dear friend who passed away unexpectedly. Anil's body was subjected to postmortem at Kottayam Medical College Hospital after his Covid test result turned negative. The body was brought to Thiruvananthapuram at around 7.30 pm. Many people who came to pay their last respects at Bharat Bhavan burst into tears.

The body was then taken to his native Nedumangad. The funeral was at half-past nine. Anil died in an accident at 5 pm on Friday. He was acting in the movie Peace in Thodupuzha. As there was no shooting on Christmas day, he was taking a bath in the Malankara dam near the location, where he slipped into a deep ravine.
